Effective July 1, 2009, Platts will suspend its 180 CST bunker fuel assessment in Melbourne, Australia, after extensive industry feedback.
Supply of 180 CST fuel has been effectively suspended at the port since the middle of 2008 owing to local refinery constraints and changing consumption patterns.
Platts would consider relaunching the 180 CST assessment if supplies of the fuel resume in future.
Platts would continue to assess 180 CST bunker fuel in the neighboring port of Sydney, and it would continue to assess 380 CST bunker fuel in Melbourne.
