Platts invites feedback on Asian, Middle Eastern oil assessments

As part of its commitment to open and transparent pricing methodology, S&P Global Platts would like to invite feedback on any of its Asian and Middle Eastern crude oil and oil product assessments to be discussed at its annual Singapore Crude Oil & Refined Products Forum to be held May 27-28, 2020.

Platts reviews all methodologies annually to ensure they continue to reflect the physical markets under assessment. Platts regularly assesses the relevance of methodologies through continuous contact with the market. Feedback on methodologies is always welcome by Platts.

Platts is committed to providing advance notice in a clear time frame that gives users sufficient opportunity to analyze and comment on the impact of such proposed changes. Time frames vary depending on Platts analysis of the overall circumstances of a particular change.

Methodology changes that materially alter an assessment and require an update to the methodology specification are preceded by extensive bilateral discussions with market stakeholders and open public forums. Routine changes, such as seasonal quality or pipeline cycle changes, time-rolling assessments, or clarifications, generally do not materially alter an assessment.

Platts holds annual open public forums in which material methodology changes and feedback are presented, and at which further feedback may be given.

Platts will hold its annual Singapore Crude Oil & Refined Products Forum for 2020 on May 27-28 virtually. Further details can be found here: https://plattsinfo.spglobal.com/singapore-forum-2020.html

Please send all comments, feedback and questions to asia_products@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.

For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
