SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts clarifies FOB China steel wire rod assessment

Platts is clarifying the specification of its FOB China wire rod (SB01261) assessment to one that reflects mesh quality wire rod, with immediate effect.

Platts steel wire rod assessments globally reflect commercial quality material of international standard for reinforcement fabrication and general engineering unless otherwise stated.

This clarification confirms that steel wire rod of all qualities and specifications FOB China for international export are normalized to this standard.

In its market commentaries, Platts will focus on the mesh quality export market, but also continue to report on the drawing quality market.
