Following feedback from subscribers in the Asian monoethylene glycol market, Platts is planning to refine its Asian MEG assessment methodology with two new measures: (1) applying a more clearly defined assessment process for carrying out end of day assessments, and (2) identifying by name companies behind bids, offers, and transactions.
The proposed changes will take effect on July 1, 2009. Starting from this date, Platts will only accept bids and offers for inclusion in its daily Asian MEG market-on-close assessment process prior to 1600 hours Singapore time (0800 GMT).
Amendments to prices can be registered until 1628 hours Singapore time (0828 GMT).
The market-on-close assessment process will close, as per normal, at 1630 hours Singapore time (0830 GMT).
For details of the assessment specifications and nomination standards, please contact quintella_koh@platts.com and send a copy to shahrin@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
