Platts proposes to change the minimum cargo size for US M1 and M2 ethylene and propylene spot assessments to 3 million lb effective August 1, 2016.
Currently, the standard cargo size for spot assessments is a minimum 5 million lb to a maximum 10 million lb.
The proposal will be for codes AAOSR00, AAOSS00, PHAXJ04 and PHAAA00. These ethylene and propylene assessments run on PC 870, PC 237, Olefinscan and Polymerscan. Initial market feedback indicates the majority of spot transactions are for volumes ranging between 3 million lb and 5 million lb.
Platts invites comments, questions and other feedback by July 1, 2016, with a view to implementation of the proposal for the cargo size change on August 1, 2016.
Please send all comments, feedback and questions to americaspetrochemicals@spglobal.com and pricemethodology@spglobal.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
