Clarification: Platts APAG Gasoil to reflect 500 ppm sulfur from 2013

Following industry feedback, Platts will proceed to amend the sulfur content of several of its Asian and Middle Eastern gasoil netbacks and related assessments in line with the change in specification for its benchmark Singapore Gasoil assessment. Platts notified its subscribers of a reduction in the sulfur content reflected in its benchmark Singapore Gasoil assessment to 500 ppm, effective from January 2, 2013, as proposed in subscriber notes on July 14 and November 22, 2011. Concurrently, Platts will also change the specification of related high sulfur assessments for FOB Arab Gulf Gasoil, FOB Korea Gasoil, FOB Okinawa Gasoil, CFR Japan Gasoil, CFR China Gasoil and CFR Hong Kong Gasoil. All of these assessments will reflect maximum 500 ppm sulfur instead of 5,000 ppm, effective January 2, 2013. In addition, FOB AG Gasoil 0.25%, Gasoil 500 ppm and Gasoil 50 ppm cash differentials will be assessed as differentials against MOPAG Gasoil, which in turn will reflect maximum 500 ppm sulfur.
