Platts has become aware that a number of oil companies are currently unable to trade Syrian origin oil.
As a result, any company wishing to offer, or nominate in to a buyer, oil originating from Syria should make the origin of the oil explicit in their offer.
Additionally, any CIF buyer wishing to receive product for delivery in to Syria must explicitly mention it at the time of bidding.
Platts will publish such bids and offers but they may be subject to normalisation for the assessment process.
