As part of its commitment to provide insight into growing markets, S&P Global Platts will launch import parity prices for ULSD, jet fuel and gasoline in Colombia, effective July 1, 2021.
The import parity prices will be based at the port of Cartagena for ULSD, jet fuel and gasoline, all meeting the country's specifications.
The assessments will be published in dollars per barrel on a daily basis, and as weekly and monthly averages. Platts first proposed launching these assessments in a subscriber note published Apr. 7, 2021: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/040721-platts-proposes-to-launch-import-parity-prices-for-colombia-refined-products.
Platts had originally proposed basing the IPPs at Barranquilla. But following market feedback, Platts has decided the new assessments will be based at the port of Cartagena, which can accommodate a fully-laden Medium Range tanker.
The prices will represent the cost of each product imported on the day of publication at Cartagena. They will include the product value, freight, demurrage, storage, insurance, losses and quality differences, where applicable.
