SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts North American jet fuel index calculations

Following a review of published indexes, Platts has determined that its North American Jet Fuel Index was calculated using a different weighting of Platts jet fuel assessments than the weighting displayed in its jet fuel index methodology guide between April 1, 2015 and February 3, 2016.

The weightings used to calculate the index are displayed in the table below.

The weightings published in the jet fuel index methodology guide are displayed alongside.

Platts amended the weightings in the index to reflect the published calculation with effect from February 4, 2016.

Indexes published since then have reflected the published weighting methodology.

The North American jet fuel index is published in its own right, and it is a component of the Platts Global jet fuel index.

Platts intends to keep all published index data intact, and invites comments and questions to oil@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
