Platts clarifies European ETBE sustainability criteria requirements

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, would like to clarify that its FOB AR ETBE assessment reflects material with a maximum carbon intensity (CI) of 41.90g CO2e/MJ.

Under the European Commission's Renewable Energy Directive, or RED I, framework , this was equivalent to the minimum 50% greenhouse gas (GHG) savings , based on a fossil fuel comparator of 83.8g CO2e/MJ .

Under the RED II, stating the fossil fuel comparator of 94.0g CO2e/MJ, this CI level is equivalent to minimum 55.4% GHG savings.
