Platts starts expressing hourly US Renewable Penetration Indices as percentages

S&P Global Platts has begun expressing hourly wind and solar power Renewable Penetration Indices (RPI) in the US as percentages, effective May 17, 2021.

These percentages represent the share of solar or wind energy in the overall generation mix for each hour of each region.

As part of the change, Platts discontinued previously published RPI symbols, which were expressed as decimals, and replaced them with a new set of corresponding indices, expressed as percentages. The last publication day for the old symbols was May 16, 2021.
