Following an announcement from the Worldscale Association, Platts confirms that it is updating the Worldscale flat basis rate used to calculate FOB West Coast of India assessments for naphtha, gasoline, gasoil, and kerosene from June 1, 2016 as follows.
According to Worldscale circular no. 12/2016, the amendment is effective for all voyages on which loading is commenced on or after May 13, 2016.
This will affect the $/mt rates of the East of Suez clean tanker assessments namely India-Japan 35kt and India-Singapore 35kt.
The updated flat rates for the following assessments are: 35kt India-Japan: $15.42/mt 35kt India-Singapore: $7.56/mt
The actual freight applied to derive the netback or C+F assessments fluctuates daily based on changes in Platts Dirty Tanker Wire and Clean Tanker Wire, applied against the respective 2016 flat rates.
