Platts is seeking comments on a proposal to introduce CFR Brazil assessments for the Latin polymer markets. The proposed assessments would be for low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), high density polyethylene injection (HDPE inj), high density polyethylene blowmolding (HDPE bmldg), high density polyethylene film (HDPE film), polypropylene and PVC.
The assessments would reflect product on a CFR basis into the port of Santos, excluding duty. Deliveries into the port of Paranagua will be normalized to CFR Santos. These assessments would be in $/mt and would denote spot transactions of 250-500 mt lots, for delivery 20-40 days forward from the date of publication with an LC of 90 days.
Platts may normalize for assessment purposes those transactions, bids or offers that deviate from standard terms and conditions. The proposed weekly assessments would be published on Platts real-time Petrochemical Alert as well as in the weekly Polymerscan.
