Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched daily spot high density polyethylene pipe natural CFR South Asia assessments, effective May 15.
The assessment will complement Platts' existing suite of polyolefins assessments in the region and provide transparency in the HDPE pipe grade market.
Platts originally proposed the assessment in a subscriber note published March 18, and a decision note was issued April 12.
The assessment will be published in $/mt daily, taking into account market information reported to Platts ahead of the market close at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT).
The assessment would reflect HDPE pipe natural that meets the following specifications:
Timing | Delivered 15-30 days forward from the date of publication |
Location basis | CFR South Asia, basis Nhava Sheva, Mundra |
Cargo size | 100-500 mt |
Credit terms | Up to L/C 30 days |
Specifications | Melt flow index of less than 0.3 |
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard.
The assessments appear on the Asian Petrochemicalscan, Polymerscan and Platts Petrochemical Alert pages PC0266, PC0411, PC0462, PC0530, PC0531, PC0570 and PC0573, with daily price symbol HDPEP00, weekly average HDPEP03, and monthly average HDPEP04.
