SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to change spot US PGP delivery timing, frequency July 1

Platts will change the delivery timing basis for the spot US Gulf Coast polymer grade propylene assessment from a three- to 30-day basis to current delivery month (M1) and a next delivery month (M2) assessments, effective July 1, 2015. Additionally, Platts will change the frequency of publication, with the new spot assessments generated daily in lieu of the current Friday-only publication schedule. Platts based its decision on market feedback stating that the three- to 30-day timing window is no longer reflective of the US olefins spot market, as the primary delivery mechanism for propylene in the US Gulf Coast is through pipeline and follows pipeline scheduling. Additionally, the daily transactional nature of PGP suggest more a frequent schedule of assessment. Based on industry feedback regarding pipeline delivery scheduling, Platts has decided that current delivery month roll into next delivery month three (3) calendar days prior to the end of the month. If this day falls on a weekend or holiday, Platts will roll its US olefins assessments to the next month on the next business day.
