SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts publishes differential for Bakken assessment vs. WTI CMA

Platts has started publication of a price differential versus WTI CMA for Bakken crude assessed near the wellhead in Williston Basin.

The new assessment reflects the way Bakken crude trades in the market, in which the majority of trades occur against the calendar-month average of NYMEX light sweet crude (WTI CMA) during the month of delivery.

Platts will continue to publish the existing Bakken flat price assessment. The crude's assessment methodology and specifications will not change.

The new assessment appears on Platts Global Alert Page 214 and 260 under the product code AASRX00, while the monthly average appears on Platts Global Alert Page 215 under the product code AASRX03.

The assessment and commentary also appear in the Crude Oil Marketwire, North American Crude and Products Scan, and Oilgram Price Report.
