15 May 2015 | 07:25 UTC — Houston
Effective May 15, 2015, Platts has changed the Market on Close timing for its clean and dirty tanker assessments in the Americas to reflect the transactable value at 2:15 pm Houston time, from 4:30 pm London time previously.
This follows a proposal note published March 4, 2015 and a decision note published March 31, 2015.
In line with the change, the clean and dirty tanker assessments in the Americas have also moved to a US publishing schedule, from a London one, effective May 15, 2015.
The change is part of an expansion of freight coverage in the Americas, and reflects the growing liquidity of the Americas tanker markets. The change also brings the Americas tanker assessments in line with the US oil assessments, which reflect the transactable value of crude oil and refined oil products at 2:15 pm Houston time.
The Americas clean tanker assessments appear in the Clean Tankerwire and on Platts Global Alert pages 1912 and 1924, while the Americas dirty tanker assessments appear in the Dirty Tankerwire and on Platts Global Alert pages 1972 and 1962.
