Platts is proposing the launch of a new weekly assessment covering the European export of rebar, a market which continues to be increasingly relevant for the international longs sector. The assessment will reflect the euro value of 12-16 mm rebar normalized to an FOB Mediterranean port basis. Trade in other regions can be freight-normalized to enable an implied comparative delivery in the Med region. Platts is proposing to normalize this assessment to a lead time for the shipment of goods of 4-8 weeks and a minimum export quantity of 500 mt. This weekly assessment will occur on the Friday of each week, with the exception of UK public holidays, when it will be assessed on the nearest preceding business day. Please send any questions or feedback by May 27, 2013, to Emanuele.Norsa@platts.com, Annalisa.Villa@platts.com and cc: to pricegroup@platts.com
