Platts reviews Northwest Pipeline natural gas index methodologies

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is reviewing natural gas index methodologies for the following locations: Northwest, Rocky Mountains (monthly market) IGBCP03; Northwest, Rocky Mountain Pool (daily market only) IGBRW00; and Northwest, S. of Green River (daily and monthly market) IGBCQ00. Platts invites market feedback on potential changes for these locations.

The Northwest, S. of Green River methodology overlaps with significant portions of the Northwest, Rocky Mountain Pool daily location and the Northwest, Rocky Mountains monthly location, in particular north of the Moab, Utah, compressor station.

As a result, Platts is considering creating a new index that encompasses the area south from the Moab compressor station to the La Plata interconnection with El Paso Natural Gas called "Northwest, San Juan Basin."

Furthermore, to align its daily and monthly methodologies, Platts is considering creating a daily index for Northwest, Rocky Mountains, and a monthly index for the Northwest, Rocky Mountain Pool. The methodology for these two locations would not change.
