Platts to launch new China LPG assessments

Platts proposes to launch daily assessments on August 1, 2012 for pressurized LPG cargoes loading from East China and South China.

These new assessments would be published outright price assessments, and the premiums or discount for cargoes relative to the Saudi Aramco Contract Price that prevails at the time the cargo is loaded.

Platts will reflect mixed cargoes in its assessment, containing 30% propane and 70% butane, for loading 7-15 days after the date of assessment.

Platts will consider cargoes of 1,800-2,500 mt in size, for loading from main ports in South China, and will normalize the value to Shenzhen.

Platts will also assess cargoes of 1,800-2,500 mt in size, for loading from main ports in East China, and will normalize the value to Shanghai.

The assessments will be published alongside Platts' existing LPG assessments on Platts Global Alert page 479, Petrochemicals Alert page 254, in LPGaswire, and in Platts' market data services.
