Platts plans new US assessment for ULSD with renewables

Platts proposes to introduce a new US Gulf Coast ultra low sulfur diesel assessment to reflect the value of ULSD containing up to 5% renewable diesel at the point of origin of the Colonial Pipeline system on June 1, 2012.

This new assessment will be called US Gulf Coast "ULSD (with renewable diesel)" will reflect shipments of ULSD into the pipeline that may contain as much as 5% renewable diesel. All other specifications will be consistent with Platts' existing ULSD specifications for the USGC.

The specifications for Platts' existing US Gulf Coast ULSD assessments will remain unchanged, and will continue to reflect hydrocarbon-only ULSD.

Both the existing "ULSD" and "ULSD (with renewable diesel)" assessments will be assessed for the six most prompt cycles and will be published on Platts Global Alert pages 571 and 598, in the Platts US Marketscan and Platts Oilgram Price Report.
