Proposed change in European PX specs

Commodity: Petrochemicals Region: Europe

Platts is seeking comment on proposal to change the specification of its spot European paraxylene assessments.

The specification change would affect the purity levels, currently assessed at minimum of 99.5%.

Platts proposes to enhance its PX assessments to reflect minimum purity of 99.70% in accordance to the prevalent and accepted European industry standards.

The change in the purity specification would also align Platts European assessments with its Asian assessment.
