Commodity: Petrochemicals Region: Europe
Sales of European chlorinated solvents have been declining each year since 2004 as most production have been refocused to Asia, according to industry body ECSA.
As a result, and following an internal review, Platts will discontinue the assessments of European trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene and methylene chloride markets, with the final assessments for these three products made on April 27, 2010.
The affected assessments are basis FOB Rotterdam in $/mt and FD NWE in Eur/mt, currently published on Platts Petrochemical Alert page 391 and the weekly Platts Solventswire.
