SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes European generating fuel spread indicator methodology revision

In light of a decision to discontinue its European power price assessments, S&P Global Platts intends to update its methodology for calculating European dark, spark, clean dark and clean spark spreads and generating fuel cost comparisons to include daily European electricity settlement prices from the European Energy Exchange (EEX) and the Iberian Derivatives Exchange (OMIP) from May 29, 2018.

Platts is proposing to replace Platts OTC German, French and Italian price assessments with European electricity settlement prices from EEX in those calculations.

The electricity settlement prices from OMIP would replace the use of Platts OTC Spanish price assessments in those calculations.
