Platts launches MXN.USD foreign exchange rate assessment at São Paulo close

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a new MXN.USD foreign exchange rate assessment timestamped at 4:30 pm São Paulo time, effective May 5, 2023.

The new exchange rate under symbol AFXMX00 is being used to convert Mexican finished steel and aluminum scrap prices assessed in Mexican pesos into US dollars, in line with the assessments Latin America timestamp, at the 4:30 pm São Paulo market close. Conversions were previously based on a 1:30 pm Houston close forex rate.
