Platts changes MOC for Asia UCO, UCOME assessments to 1630 Singapore time

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is changing the Platts Asian used cooking oil and used cooking oil methyl ester timestamps to 1630 Singapore time, from 1800 Singapore time, effective May 2.

The changes are for the following assessments:

• UCO North China (AUCOC00)
• UCO FOB Straits (UCFCC00)
• UCOME FOB North China (UCFCA00)
• UCOME FOB Straits (UCFCB00)

Platts assessments are designed to reflect repeatable market value at the close of the Platts Market on Close assessment process.

This change is intended to better capture the concentration of trading activity in Asian markets.

As part of the change, the Platts e-Window communication tool will not accept new bids or offers after 4.00.00.000, and the market close will reflect 4.30.00.999. No more price changes will be accepted after 4.29.00.999.

Source market data such as bids, offers, trades and indicative values will only be considered for the assessment if received before 1630 Singapore time.
