Platts launches daily Europe R-PET light blue flake spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a daily delivered, duty paid Southern Europe recycled polyethylene terephthalate light blue flake spot assessment, effective May 1.

The assessment will complement Platts existing R-PET assessments.

The new assessment was initially proposed in a note published Feb. 28.

The new DDP Southern Europe, basis Iberia, assessment will be published in Eur/mt and will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process each day at 4:30 pm London time.

Pricing information with terms, locations and specifications different from the above standard may be considered for assessment purposes, subject to normalization.

The existing weekly European R-PET commentary and rationale, published Wednesdays, will include information on the new assessment, which will also appear on Platts Connect, Platts Petrochemical Alert fixed pages 503, 441, 574, Platts Market Center and Polymerscan.
