European MTBE assessments to reflect 5-day laycans

Effective June 1, 2009, Platts MTBE barge assessments will no longer reflect full window bids or offers, where the buyer retains the option to nominate loading dates at any point in the loading period.

Platts will reflect in its assessment process bids and offers which specify 5-day loading periods.

For example, either the front 5 days of the loading period, the middle 5 days of the loading period or the back 5 days of the loading period, or any combination of these three loading periods.

This proposed change will align MTBE with the common practices in related barge markets.
