Platts plans to announce the Quality Premiums (escalators) to be applied to June-loading North Sea Ekofisk and Oseberg crude cargoes in its Brent-Forties-Oseberg-Ekofisk (BFOE) cash assessments at 12 p.m. London time on May 1, 2013. Platts announced March 15, 2013, that it would launch Quality Premiums for Ekofisk and Oseberg crude oil in its North Sea Dated Brent, cash Brent (BFOE) and related assessment processes for cargoes loading from June 2013 onward. Under the updated methodology, Quality Premiums are to be paid by buyer to seller for the nomination and delivery of Oseberg or Ekofisk into a physical BFOE transaction concluded during the Platts Market on Close assessment process. These escalators also will be considered in the Platts assessment process for Dated Brent and related instruments. For more information on Quality Premiums, including a Question & Answer document, please visit the Platts Dated Brent page on its website at http://platts.com/price-assessments/oil/dated-brent.
