Platts changes timestamp and publishing schedule for Brazil, Chile and Mexico I-REC, and forex assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the timestamp and holiday schedule for its Brazil, Chile and Mexico I-REC assessments, and corresponding forex assessments, from 3:30 pm Houston time to 3:30 pm Mexico City time, and has changed the publishing schedule from the US to Mexico, effective April 29, 2024.

This follows a proposal published on March 8 and a decision published on April 2.

This change is intended to better capture the concentration of trading activity in the Latin American I-REC markets.

Bids, offers, trades and indicative values would only be considered for the assessment if they are received before the 3:30 pm Mexico City time cut off.

The Brazil I-REC assessments are published in Megawatt Daily and European Power Daily and in the Platts pricing database under the symbol codes above.
