Platts adding new pricing locations for North American natural gas

Platts will add three new pricing locations in the North American natural gas market to its daily and monthly bidweek spot-gas price surveys, effective July 1.

After considering market changes and comments from interested parties on six proposed additions to Platts spot-gas price postings, Platts will add three new locations to its daily and monthly bidweek price surveys: Lebanon Hub; Northern Border, Ventura Transfer Point; and Trunkline, zone 1A. The new postings will be published beginning trade date June 30, 2009, for flow date July 1 (see detail and descriptions below).

Platts will not add postings at this time for the three other locations considered: NGPL, Texok zone-west; Rockies Express, Panhandle; and Iroquois, zone 1. Platts decided not to add those points at this time because of uncertainty about how trading activity at those locations will respond to the addition of new transportation capacity on a number of pipeline systems in regions that encompass those points. Platts will continue to monitor trading activity at those three locations.

Lebanon Hub (daily and monthly):

Deliveries to or from Texas Gas Transmission Corp., ANR Pipeline Co., Texas Eastern Transmission Corp., Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Co., Columbia Gas Transmission Corp., Dominion Gas Transmission Inc. and Rockies Express Pipeline at interconnects in the Lebanon, Ohio, area. The monthly bidweek postings will appear in the "Market Center Spot Gas Prices" and the "Market Center Bidweek Physical Basis Prices" tables. The daily "Lebanon Hub" posting will appear in the "Appalachia" section of the "Daily price survey" table.

Northern Border, Ventura Transfer Point (daily and monthly):

Deliveries on Northern Border Pipeline Co. at its Ventura Transfer point (DRN# 125771). This location is designed to capture gas traded on Northern Border at Ventura that is not traded for delivery to Northern Natural Gas Co. at the Northern Natural/Northern Border Ventura interconnect (DRN#4680).

The monthly bidweek Northern Border, Ventura Transfer Point, posting will appear in the "Prices of Spot Gas Delivered to Pipelines" and "Bidweek Physical Basis Prices Delivered to Pipelines" tables. The daily posting will appear as Northern Border, Ventura TP in the "Others" section of the "Daily price survey" table.

With the addition of the Northern Border, Ventura Transfer Point, posting, Platts is modifying its description of its Northern Natural Gas Co., Ventura, Iowa, location. The existing description reads "Deliveries into Northern Natural Gas from Northern Border Pipeline at the Ventura interconnection in Hancock County, Iowa." The revised description, effective July 1, will be "Deliveries to Northern Natural Gas at Ventura in Hancock County, Iowa."

Trunkline, zone 1A (daily and monthly):

Deliveries to Trunkline Gas Co. in zone 1A from the discharge side of its Longville, Louisiana, compressor station north to the suction side of its Dyersburg, Tennessee, station, as well as transactions at Trunkline's zone 1A pool.

The monthly bidweek postings will appear in the "Prices of Spot Gas Delivered to Pipelines" and "Bidweek Physical Basis Prices Delivered to Pipelines" tables. The daily posting would appear in the "Others" section of the "Daily price survey" table.
