Following a period of industry feedback, Platts will increase the frequency of its MW European Ferromolybdenum price assessment (MMAFO00) to daily from weekly, effective May 1. The name of the assessment as it appears in Platts Metals Daily, Metals Week, Platts Metals Alert and Platts' data will be aligned to MW European 65% Ferromolybdenum. Currently Platts engages with the market regularly, with a higher priority on market values that are verified and tested typically on Thursday prior to publication of the assessment. From May 1, Platts will enhance its market reporting by publishing an assessment of the tradable value for European ferromolybdenum every business day. A weekly average will also be published on Fridays, and a monthly average consisting of the mean value of all the daily assessments that month will be published on the last business day of the month. At the same time, Platts wishes to clarify and enhance the methodology and specifications as follows: MW European 65% Ferromolybdenum -- daily assessment of the repeatable, tradable spot physical price of ferromolybdenum with 65% minimum Mo contained, 0.50% Cu, 1.50% Si, 0.05% P, 0.10 S% and 0.10% C, duty-paid, net-cash terms, in-warehouse Rotterdam. Sizing 5-50 mm, 90% passing, packed in 1 mt bags on pallets, 20 mt minimum volume. The assessment reflects the transactable value in a narrow price range, expressed in $/kg, based on a survey of ferromolybdenum producers, traders and steel mill consumers. Any further questions or feedback may be addressed to Jitendra Gill, jitendra.gill@platts.com, with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com.
