Platts is proposing to launch a daily P1020 aluminum spot assessment that reflects net-cash payment terms on June 1, 2009.
This assessment will be published on Platts Metals Alert page 412 and in Metals Week, and will run concurrently to the current US Aluminum Transaction price. The new assessment will be labeled "US Aluminum Net-Cash Premium."
The underlying specifications for the "US Aluminum Net-Cash Premium" will mirror the US Aluminum Transaction price with the exception of payment terms. The current payment term basis for the US Aluminum Transaction price is net-30 days.
Platts has extended the feedback deadline for this proposal to April 30, 2009, for additional comments from subscribers.
