Platts to update name of cost-based HVO/renewable diesel prices
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will update the name of its renewable diesel (RD) prices that are based on the cost of production to differentiate these prices from new market-based RD assessments, effective from May 1.
Platts will also standardize the terminology for these assessments as renewable diesel, rather than HVO, to align global coverage.
The decision note for the new RD assessments can be found here.
The calculation method and specifications for these assessments will remain unchanged.
The prices will be renamed as follows:
