SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to amend Capesize Yuzhny to Qingdao assessment

S&P Global Platts proposes to amend its assessment for Yuzhny, Ukraine, to Qingdao, North China, 160,000 mt (plus/minus 10%) Capesize freight to no longer reflect the inclusion of disbursements account (DA) at the loading port, effective June 1, 2018.

Platts has received feedback and seen data showing that Capesize freight rates for loading iron ore, pellets or concentrates from Yuzhny are typically fixed excluding DA payments. Platts is therefore proposing to assess the Yuzhny to Qingdao freight price free of DA payments at the load port.

The assessment appears in the Dry Freight Wire and in the Platts database under the code IOBSC00.
