SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes Antwerp as basis for FD, CIF NWE ethylene, propylene assessments

Platts proposes to reflect Antwerp as the basis location for its daily and weekly free delivered Northwest European ethylene and propylene assessments. Platts currently reflects the wider Northwest European area without specifying a basis location. Currently, the basis location is Northwest Europe.

The port of Antwerp is the biggest petrochemical hub in Europe. Propylene pipelines connect important chemical sites in the Netherlands and Belgium. The ARG network is an ethylene pipeline network that connects the Belgian, German and Dutch chemical industries. Several pipelines also flow from Antwerp to Terneuzen, Rotterdam, Feluy and the Rhine-Ruhr area.

Platts is seeking feedback until May 11. Platts currently publishes assessments for FD and CIF NWE ethylene and propylene in the European Olefinscan and on pages PC0300, PC0308 and PC0543.

Assessments to be normalized to basis Antwerp:

Ethylene: FD NWE HPAJE00, CIF NWE PHAJD00

Propylene: Polymer grade FD NWE HPAJQ00, CIF NWE HPAJP00 Chemical grade FD NWE HPAJZ00, CIF NWE HPAJY00
