Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to launch daily price assessments for Oregon and Washington Clean Fuel Standard Program credits, effective June 17, 2024.
After consultation with the market, Platts has seen interest in price assessments for both the Oregon, and Washington Clean Fuel Standard Program credits.
Platts is proposing to launch current-quarter and next-quarter CFP credit price assessments for each state program. Each assessment would roll to the next quarter on the first publishing day after the 14th of the last month of the quarter.
The assessments would consider market information reported to Platts and published throughout the day, including firm bids and offers, trades, and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
Platts would assess a minimum traded volume of 1,000 mt.
The Oregon and Washington CFP prices would be published as an outright price in US dollars per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.
The assessments would reflect a 1330 Houston time market close and would follow the Platts US publishing schedule.
