SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts changes timing basis for methanol FOB USG June 1

Effective June 1, 2015, Platts will change the timing basis reflected in its daily US spot methanol price assessment to current delivery month (M1) and next month (M2) from the current three- to 30-day basis.

The change had been scheduled for a May 1 launch, but was postponed.

Platts will change the current delivery month roll into next delivery month five (5) calendar days prior to the end of the month. If this day falls on a weekend or holiday, Platts will roll its US spot methanol assessments to the next month on the next business day. All other assessment parameters will remain in effect. Spot methanol will remain assessed on a free on board (FOB) basis the US Gulf Coast (Houston-Texas City area), with minimum cargo size of 10,000 barrels and a maximum water content of 0.1% by weight.

Platts also has amended the description for its current methanol FOB USG assessment to reflect the assessment of FOB USG methanol in Month 1.

The daily assessment will appear on PCA 872 and weekly average will appear on PCA 347.
