Following a period of market feedback and review of existing Canadian Enerdata Ltd. natural gas pricing, S&P Global Platts has decided to proceed with the following discontinuations, consolidations and additions to the Canadian Gas Price Reporter publication and Enerdata indexes from June 1, 2020.
Platts will make the following changes:
CGPR Monthly Discontinuations:
Platts will discontinue the following pricing tables, and all subsequent prices and footnotes that are published in the monthly Canadian Gas Price Reporter publication:
The following tables will be revised to remove historical and month to date values and will be consolidated to publish only the most recent monthly high, low, volume, and deal count values, where applicable:
The following tables that include CGPR monthly US natural gas indexes will be discontinued and replaced with existing Platts preliminary monthly values in the Northeast, Upper Midwest and Rockies/Northwest:
Locations in the above mentioned tables that correspond to an NGX contract will not be discontinued, but moved to a consolidated NGX monthly pricing table.
The following daily price tables will no longer be published in CGPR Monthly, but will solely be published on Enerdata.com on a daily cadence:
The ICE NGX AB-NIT Same Day 1-5 and ICE NGX AB-NIT Month Ahead 7a daily tables on Enerdata.com will continue to publish a table including the entire month's values in CGPR Monthly.
NGX Contract Additions:
In addition to the existing ICE NGX indexes published in CGPR Monthly, Platts proposes to publish the following Near Month ICE NGX indexes:
The above indexes will no longer include submitted bilateral transactional information by market participants.
The monthly symbols will be available in the GM market data category on May 1, 2020, and there will be parallel publishing period starting on this data for both legacy Enerdata distribution and Platts distribution, culminating on June 1.
Existing customers of Canadian Enerdata Ltd. will receive an email with revised and final mock ups following market feedback, as well as a complete list of symbols for preparation of changes.
If you are not an existing Canadian Enerdata Ltd. customer, please reach out to americasgaspricing@spglobal.com for more information.
The above changes in the monthly market will go into effect June 1, 2020.
On this date, the legacy CGPR Monthly will be published alongside the Platts CGPR publication for additional market preparation, with the legacy CGPR Monthly ceasing to publish thereafter.
In addition to the above changes to the existing Enerdata monthly prices, the CGPR Month Index Summary will no longer be published as a separate file after June 1, 2020. The CGPR monthly has been redesigned to effectively incorporate the monthly summary into the monthly report.
