Platts to suspend duplicated Hong Kong data

As part of ongoing work to maintain and enhance transparency of Platts market data assessments, Platts will change the description of database codes for fuel oil and diesel barge assessments in Hong Kong in market data categories PQ (South China Fuel Oil), PS (South China Products) and MA (Monthly Averages) with immediate effect, to match the primary data descriptions found in the market data category BA (Bunker fuel).

To reduce duplication of data in Platts databases, Platts proposes to ultimately suspend the codes found in PQ, PS and MA market data categories. Platts proposes to suspend these codes with effect from August 1. The assessments will continue to be found in market data category BA.

The codes to be redefined in the database, and ultimately suspended, are listed in the table below. For completeness and comparison, the list of primary codes found in market data category BA is also provided below.
