SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts amends Worldscale flat rate baskets for dirty tanker assessments

Following Worldscale Association circulars numbered 9, 10 and 13 for 2015, Platts will amend the Worldscale flat rates baskets used for $/mt calculations in a number of dirty tanker assessments, effective May 4, 2015.

According to Worldscale circulars, flat rates that involve the ports of Flotta, Mina Abdulla, Mina Al Ahmadi, Mundra and Shuaiba were changed "in light of new information regarding revised port tariffs" and "increased Tanker Charges".

With these amendments, the new flat rates involving Mina Abdulla, Mina Al Ahmadi, Mundra and Shuaiba are obtained by adding $0.12 to all flat rates involving those ports. Amended rates for Flotta are obtained by adding $0.82 to all flat rates involving the port.

For dirty tanker assessments, Platts uses averages of the corresponding baskets of Worldscale flat rates as a basis for $/mt calculations for every route.
