Platts to update factor for converting LNG $/MMbtu to $/GJ in LNG bunker assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will update the factor to 1.055056 for converting LNG $/MMbtu to $/GJ in LNG bunker assessments, effective April 24, 2023.

This update is aligned with the conversion factor used in other Platts assessments and will ensure the most accurate conversion rates are applied.

The update will affect the following codes, which currently use a 1.055 conversion rate:

CVLNS00 - LNG Bunker Singapore Price by Calorific Value $/GJ

CVLNR00 - LNG Bunker Rotterdam Price by Calorific Value $/GJ

These price series, expressed in $/GJ, are calculated by dividing the base $/MMBtu LNG prices in their respective regions by 1.055056.
