Platts is proposing to launch physical natural gas liquids assessments for the second-month beginning June 1, 2012. These new assessments would reflect one delivery month forward from the prompt delivery month Platts currently assesses.
For example, on June 1, Platts would assess June gas liquids for injection ex-Mont Belvieu as the front-month assessment, and these second month assessments would reflect barrels for injection in July.
Platts in the US currently assess NGLs for injection in the current month, with the rollover taking place three calendar days before the beginning of the next month. For example, in April, Platts would assess April injection barrels up to April 27 and rollover to May on the next business day, ie, April 30.
Quality and volume will be the same as front-month assessments.
Platts will launch these new assessments for non-LST Mont Belvieu, Texas, purity ethane (C2), ethane/propane mix (EP), propane (C3), normal butane (C4), non-Targa natural gasoline (C5). These assessments will appear on Platts Global Alert Page 453, Platts Petrochemical Alert Page 256, Platts LPGaswire, Platts Oilgram Price Report and Platts US Marketscan.
Please send comments or queries by April 30 to americas_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
