Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, would like to clarify that with effect from April 9, the gasoil test methods referred to in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East Refined Oil Products Methodology and Specification guide will no longer include a reference year.
This change is to prevent the possibility of specified test methods no longer reflecting latest methods prevalent in the wider market. Platts will continue to monitor evolving test methods to make necessary updates where relevant.
Platts would like to remind participants that test methods for quality should be mutually agreed between counterparties, and recommended test methods stated in the Platts Methodology and Specification guide do not reflect an exhaustive list of all test methods deployed in the wider market.
Platts would also like to remind market participants that the editorial standards for the Platts Market on Close assessment process for Singapore middle distillate cargo calls for best practices in all aspects of quality and operational performance.
