SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch new Americas clean tanker assessments

Platts confirms it will launch two new clean tanker assessments from the US Gulf Coast to Northeast Asia, effective June 1, 2016.

The new assessments will reflect an established trade route for clean products and aromatics transported on Clean Petroleum Products (CPP) Medium Range and Long Range 1 tankers from the US Gulf Coast to North East Asia, based on a routing through the Panama Canal and discharge ports in Japan and South Korea.

The assessments will be published on a lumpsum basis and expressed as US dollars per voyage, to reflect how these routes are traded. Platts will also publish the equivalent US dollar per metric ton value for these assessments. The new assessments include the following:

US GULF COAST TO JAPAN/SOUTH KOREA MEDIUM RANGE: This assessment will reflect the US Gulf Coast to Japan/South Korea route for a clean MR tanker carrying a cargo of 38,000 mt. The assessment will reflect loadings from the US Gulf Coast such as Bayport, Houston, Port Arthur, Port of South Louisiana, Texas City, and the Galveston Lightering and Anchorage area, and discharge at Japanese ports, including Chiba, Mizushima, Negishi, and Sodegaura, and South Korean ports, including Daesan, Inchon, Ulsan, and Yeosu. The assessment will be published in the Americas MRs Lumpsum Table in the clean tankerwire and on PGT page 1912 (daily) and PGT 1913 (monthly averages).

US GULF COAST TO JAPAN/SOUTH KOREA LONG RANGE 1: This assessment will reflect the US Gulf Coast to Japan/South Korea route for a clean LR1 tanker carrying a cargo of 55,000 mt. The assessment will reflect loadings from the US Gulf Coast such as Bayport, Houston, Port Arthur, Port of South Louisiana, Texas City, and the Galveston Lightering and Anchorage area, and discharge at Japanese ports, including Chiba, Mizushima, Negishi, and Sodegaura, and South Korean ports, including Daesan, Inchon, Ulsan, and Yeosu. The assessment will be published in the Americas LRs Lumpsum Table in the clean tankerwire and on PGT page 1924 (daily assessments) and on PGT page 1925 (monthly averages).
