Subscriber note: Platts revises European caustic soda FOB location and cargo size

S&P Global Platts has revised the location and cargo size specifications of its weekly European caustic soda export spot price assessment, effective Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

The revised specifications were proposed on February 11, 2020, in a subscriber note available here: http://plts.co/GCEC30qtPtP

The specifications were confirmed on March 6, 2020, in a subscriber note available here: http://plts.co/9XKn30qtPvr

Platts has widened its assessment location from a FOB Rotterdam basis to a FOB NWE basis, to reflect other active export ports in the northwest Europe region, normalizing to Rotterdam.

Platts has also reduced the minimum cargo size from 10,000 dmt to 2,000 dmt, to better reflect typical volumes.

Platts European caustic soda FOB NWE price assessment appears in Solventswire, on Platts Petrochemical Alert pages 243, 380 and 391, and in the Platts price database under the following code:

AANTF00 Caustic Soda FOB NWE Weekly
