SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to assess USGC 7.8 RVP 93 octane based on spread to 9 RVP grades

Platts has concluded its review of USGC pipeline assessments related to US Gulf Coast premium conventional gasoline with 7.8 RVP (V1), following a request for comments published on March 3, 2016.

Following Colonial Pipeline's decision to no longer ship US Gulf Coast premium conventional V1 gasoline, and a review of feedback received on the future of the assessment, Platts would like to clarify that it will continue to publish assessments for the grade for the immediate future to ensure continuity of data where needed for subscribers. Platts will assess a value for the grade by determining its relative value in reference to other, liquid grades of gasoline, while it continue to review the long term future of the assessment.

From April 6, 2016 and through the summer period, Platts will use the prevailing waterborne-to-pipeline spread for conventional gasoline, and the regrade value between conventional and premium gasoline, to arrive at a daily value for the V1 pipeline assessment.

Platts will be closely reviewing the future of this assessment beyond 2016 and will announce any specific proposals in due course.

BACKGROUND: Colonial Pipeline announced on February 5 it would no longer ship V1, based on feedback from shippers at a forum January 28. For details of Colonial's shipping schedule, please refer to the company's website at http://...om/home/customers/shipper-manual-tariffs.

Platts invites further comments on the future of this assessment. Please send all comments or questions by May 2, 2016, to americas_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available to the public upon request.
