S&P Global proposes to change methodology for Carbon Neutral LNG assessments

S&P Global Commodity Insights is proposing to change the Carbon Intensity, or CI, numbers used for the Carbon Neutral LNG, or CNL, assessments currently published in Platts LNG Daily and Platts LNG Alert page 3000, effective June 1, 2022.

The current methodology represents an editorially-estimated CI number using a volume-weighted average of all Australian liquefaction projects. The proposed change would be a monthly modeled calculation provided by S&P Global Commodity Insights Analytics with the CNL assessments still produced daily.

The affected assessments would be:

CNL WTT JKTC(ex-Australia) Differential ACNLB00

CNL WTT JKTC(ex-Australia) Cumulative Monthly Average Apr ACNLD03

CNL WTW JKTC(ex-Australia) Differential ACNLF00

CNL WTW JKTC(ex-Australia) Cumulative Monthly Average Apr ACNLH03

CNL DES JKTC(ex-Australia) Differential ACNLG00

CNL DES JKTC(ex-Australia) Cumulative Monthly Average Apr ACNLI03

CNL Combustion JKTC ACNLJ00
