SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes changes to Transco Zone 5 methodology

Following an initial review of market conditions, Platts is now seeking formal feedback on proposals to change the methodology specifications for Transco, Zone 5 delivered. The changes would take effect in both the daily and monthly gas price surveys.

Platts is proposing changes to the methodology specifications for Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line, Zone 5 delivered as a result of recurring price disparities between points north of Station 165 and points south of Station 165. Changes would apply to Platts' North American Natural Gas daily and monthly price surveys. Platts would begin excluding transactions done at points north of Station 165 within Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line's Zone 5.

The new description would read: Deliveries from Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line on the 30-inch, 36-inch and 42-inch lines from the Georgia/South Carolina border up to and including Station 165 in Virginia. Deliveries into Transco at the Pleasant Valley receipt point near Fairfax, Va., from Dominion's Cove Point LNG terminal are not included. Additionally, deliveries from Transco north of Station 165 are not included.

The proposed changes would take effect beginning on trade date Friday, April 29, 2016, for flow dates Sunday May 1 through Monday May 2 for the daily price survey and trade dates April 25-30 for the May 2016 monthly price survey.
