S&P Global Platts has launched a Battery Grade Cobalt Sulfate DDP China assessment on April 4, 2019 after collecting feedback on its initial proposal since February 7.
Platts is assessing Battery Grade Cobalt Sulfate DDP China on a weekly basis every Thursday, or the nearest prior working day. The assessment is timestamped at 4:30pm Singapore time.
The assessment has the following specifications:
- Quality: Minimum 20.5% cobalt content
- Incoterm: Delivered Duty Paid
- Unit: Yuan
- Currency: Metric ton
- Volume: Minimum one truckload
- Timing: Delivery within 14 days
- Payment Terms: Cash or Letter of Credit
All origins of cobalt sulfate meeting these specifications are taken into consideration, but may be normalized back to Platts base standards.
In order to assess battery grade cobalt sulfate, Platts collects a wide variety of transactional and market information through a survey of industry participants, which typically includes, but is not limited to, communicating with sources via phone, email and instant messaging.
The assessment is published on Platts Metals Alert, page 8890 and in Metals Daily. The weekly cobalt sulfate DDP assessment carries the code BATCS04, with BATCS03 for the monthly average and BATCS05 for the quarterly average.
